SUMMER MATH SCHOLARS

For incoming ninth graders at Cleveland, Franklin, Garfield, Rainier Beach and Chief Sealth High Schools (25 students per school).

Team up with MESA to make your ninth grade year the first step on your road to college by attending the Summer Math Scholars program!

August 4 - 22: Summer Math Scholars is a three-week program (9 - 12:30 each day) held at Aki Kurose. The workshops will be taught by top-level math teachers. High school and college students will be available as tutors. We will work on math, study, thinking and communication skills. Summer math students have the chance to move up a level in math. Our goal is to make sure everyone in the pgrogram succeeds in Algebra (Integrated Math 1.0) or moves ahead to honors math.

Each student will receive a calculator, t-shirt, school supplies and $50 (you must attend at least 14 out of the 15 days, on time, do all work assignedd and participate positively in every activity.
